Terms of Use

By using the Steady Life app ("app"), you agree to these Terms of Use. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. What Steady Life is — and what it is not

Steady Life is an education and mindset-training app inspired by Stoic philosophy. Its purpose is to help you practice habits of thought through lessons, exercises, and reflection.

Steady Life is not:

• a health, psychological, psychiatric, or medical service;
• a substitute for professional care, diagnosis, or treatment;
• an emergency or crisis intervention service.

Using the app does not create any therapeutic, medical, or health care relationship between you and Steady Life.

2. AI-generated content

Some responses in the app — including the comments from the character Master Zeno, who is fictional — are generated by artificial intelligence, not by a person. They may contain inaccuracies, are not reviewed by a professional, and must not be treated as health guidance. Use your own judgment and consult a qualified professional when you need one.

3. Crisis situations

Steady Life does not provide emergency services. If you or someone else is in serious distress or immediate danger — for example, thoughts of self-harm or suicide — get help now.

In the United States: call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or call 911 in an emergency.

When the text you write suggests serious distress or risk, the app stops responding with philosophy and displays support contacts for your region, verified by us. This is an added layer of care. It is not an emergency service and does not replace professional help. The app does not contact anyone or dispatch services on your behalf.

4. Eligibility

The app is intended for people 16 years of age or older.

If you are between 16 and 18, use the app with the knowledge of a parent or guardian, and talk to a trusted adult whenever you are going through something difficult.

The app is not directed to children, does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13, and does not display advertising, build behavioral profiles, or allow contact between users.

5. License

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app under these Terms, for as long as your subscription or free access remains active.

You agree not to:

• copy, distribute, resell, or sublicense the app or its content;
• reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code;
• use the app for unlawful purposes or to harm others;
• circumvent technical limitations, subscription controls, or usage limits.

6. Intellectual property

Ours: the 45-day content, the lesson and exercise texts, the character Master Zeno, the visual identity, the brand, and the software. All of it is protected by copyright and remains ours.

Yours: the entries and reflections you write remain yours. You grant us only the license needed to operate the service — to store your text so you can retrieve it, and to send it to the AI provider to generate the response you requested. We do not use your text for any other purpose, we do not use it to train AI models, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy.

7. Subscriptions and payments

Part of the content is free (the first days of the journey) and part requires a paid subscription.

• Purchases are processed by the App Store (Apple) or Google Play, depending on your device, and are subject to those stores' terms.
• Length and price. The length of each plan and the price per period are shown on the subscription screen, inside the app, before you confirm the purchase.
• Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price until you cancel. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• Cancellation. To avoid renewal, cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, in your Apple or Google Play account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the period already paid for.
• Free trial. If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• Refunds. Refunds are handled by the store under its own policies.
• Our 7-day policy. As a voluntary commitment worldwide, if you cancel within 7 calendar days of your first purchase and the store does not refund you, we will refund it ourselves. Write to support@steadylife.pro.
• Price changes. Increases will be communicated at least 30 days in advance and apply only to future periods. You may cancel before they take effect.

8. Acceptable use

You agree to use the app only for lawful, personal purposes, and not to enter sensitive information about other people in the text fields — including when requesting an AI comment.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these Terms, fraudulent use, or legal requirement.

If suspension or termination is not caused by your violation, we will refund the unused portion of any period already paid for.

You may stop using the app at any time by deleting your account inside the app (Profile → Your account). Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

10. Nature of our obligation, disclaimers, and limitation of liability

Steady Life is an educational content service. Our obligation is to make the content and features described in Section 1 available and working properly.

No promise of results. The app does not promise reduced anxiety, improved performance, behavior change, or any therapeutic effect, and should not be purchased with that expectation. The reflections, decisions, and actions you take in your life are yours. Nothing in the app is individualized advice, and no part of it should be used as the basis for health, financial, legal, or professional decisions.

Disclaimer of warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the app is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate.

Limitation of liability. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the app will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) US$50. We will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including mandatory consumer protection rights in your place of residence.

11. Changes to the service and to these Terms

We may change, suspend, or discontinue features of the app.

We may also update these Terms. Material changes will be presented in the app at least 30 days in advance. If you do not agree with the new version, you may cancel your subscription before it takes effect and receive a refund of the unused portion of the period already paid for.

12. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, where the provider is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

This does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer protection laws of the country or state where you reside, and does not prevent you from bringing a claim in the courts of your place of residence.

There is no mandatory arbitration clause and no class action waiver in these Terms.
